On one of our last days in the UK this last summer, we took a trip up from London to Invereray in Scotland for the Hydro Connect Festival. The music was great, and we stood in the rain and mud for 12 hours for my favourite band, an Icelandic group of 8 individuals going by the name Sigur Rós.
The shot here is of Jón Þór Birgisson, the lead singer for the group, doing his thing (yes, playing an electric guitar with a cello bow). The concert really blew me away, and when Sigur Rós came up on stage things truly got dramatic. I hope i captured some of the essence of the gig with this photo, and i'll be sure to post a couple more shots i found interesting from other bands as well in the future. |
